Welfare. Unison Welfare (Reg Charity 1023352) provides assistance to Unison members and their dependants in times of financial hardship or personal difficulties such as redundancy, bereavement, illness or relationship breakdown. Confidential help and advice and convalescence through two convalescent centres is provided, and financial assistance may be available for those who need it. Debt Advice. Unison can offer advice on debt.

Many people fall into debt at some point in their lives. Sometimes all it takes is a small change in circumstances to tip the balance and turn a manageable situation into a debt problem.

At UNISON welfare we are used to helping members who are struggling to cope with stress and the worry of debt. Along with FCL (Federated Credit Limited we can provide free and confidential advice to help clear your debts.

Pension Advice. Unison’s Pension Section can help you: Understand your rights. Sort out your pension problems with your employer. Negotiate better benefits in your pension scheme. Get compensation if you have been mis-sold a personal pension, and train you to be a member nominated trustee, if your scheme is in the private sector.

Rule Book Benefits. Unison’s rules allows full members to claim a whole range of cash benefits, including death, accident, fatal accident and total and partial incapacity benefits, as well as grants for education and training.
