+ Peter Edwards Citizenship & Achievement Award - WINNER 2006

The Award for the Peter Edwards' Citizenship and Achievement Award for 2007 was presented to Mr. George Bould.

The Award was presented by Mrs. Pamela Edwards, the wife of the late Peter Edwards, at a ceremony held at Staffordshire Police Headquarters in May 2007.

CITATION

George Bould became a Police Community Support Officer in November 2004 and serves the Stoke-on-Trent Division, South Eastern Neighbourhood Policing Unit.

George Bould is the ideal PCSO, he has dedicated himself to his role to such an extent that on his rest days he attends community functions and groups because he feels that he needs to be there because in his words, he is a member of the community.

He involves himself with local young people and works in partnership with local groups. Over the Christmas period he dressed up as Santa Claus and handed out presents at the Blurton Sure Start for those children who are deprived and also at local schools. He also attends centres for elderly people and can often be found making them cups of tea, serving their lunch and just making them feel valued and cared for in society.

His colleagues have the greatest admiration and respect for him and have said that he is like a father figure not just on the team, but also out in the community.

The Chief Constable was delighted to invite Pam Edwards to present the ‘Peter Edwards Citizenship and Achievement Award to George Bould.
